We're really narrowing down our theme this week, tackling with various degrees of insight and aggression on the niche area of football managers. Daniel Storey, David Hartrick, Ryan Keaney and Chris Nee discuss their favourite managers of the moment and of all-time, with all the requisite Bobby Robson yarns.

The management questions get trickier when we take on a couple of the question marks hanging over management in 2015. Just how much of an effect does the manager or head coach have in today's monied game, and even if they can have an influence is it more important for them to be able to cope with pressure?

We also look back on the best decisions ever made by managers (well, sort of) and allow listener Steve Gabb to throw in a curveball by asking us which one law of the game we'd change.

With the majority of Europe's football leagues now underway we're celebrating the start of the 2015/16 season in Spain and Italy this week with as many as three questions about La Liga and Serie A. Daniel Storey, David Hartrick, Ryan Keaney and Chris Nee name their all-time favourite teams from those divisions, including a mention for Juan Carlos Valeron and Adam Bate's related article this week.

The continental questions continue with this week's contribution from Twitter, in which George Ogier asks about the players who've made the switch from Serie A to the Premier League and why it's far from a sure-fire route to success.

We also use Arsene Wenger's recent comments as an excuse to debate the role of the striker in modern football and revisit our younger days and the football brands we loved. Which one would we bring back?

We're still in early-season mode at Football Fives and we're back as a four-piece to tackle this week's five questions. David Hartrick, Daniel Storey, Ryan Keaney and Chris Nee talk about the first weekend of the season in England having watched a quite ungodly amount of football between us already.

This week's show has a global flavour, heading straight from England to the German Bundesliga, where the new season begins this weekend. Because we don't really do previews, we decided to talk about the damage or otherwise caused by the dominance of FC Bayern.

We also discuss the pros and cons of Major League Soccer's 35+ revolution, the times we've had our knee-jerk reactions proved correct - that one's for you, Joe Entwistle - and the best football ever made. (It's the adidas Tango.)

It's here! It's here! The football season is here! Well, one of the Football Fives team has been watching Rapid Wien and a handful of Swiss games but he's not on the show again this week, and for the rest of us it all starts here.

In this week's show David Hartrick, Daniel Storey and Ryan Keaney dish up a season preview, of sorts, looking ahead to the most intriguing teams, hopes, dreams and potential surprise packages (thanks for the question, Charles Davis) in Europe's major leagues in 2015/16.

We reflect on misleading opening days through history and ask why the Football League Championship is so reliably a total slobberknocker every year.
