Football Fives is a man down again this week but UEFA EURO 2016 continues apace and the remaining panel members can't hold on for Ryan Keaney's return. The Round of 16 seemed to come and go in a flash but fear ye not, because we've got a big ol' recap for you in this week's show. Xherdan Shaqiri's goal? Oooof.

In this week's show it's Daniel Storey, David Hartrick and Chris Nee who get the pleasure of talking about Poland's penalty shoot-out defeat of Switzerland, Wales' narrow victory over Northern Ireland, France's comeback victory against the Republic of Ireland, Italy beating Spain, Germany humping Slovakia, Belgium slapping Hungary and Portugal's 120-minute boregasm against fancied Croatia.

There was another game, too. England's loss to Iceland has been dissected every which way already and we, as three Englishmen, are also obliged to take a look. We get kind of halfway through it before deciding to look ahead to four tasty-looking quarter-finals instead.

UEFA EURO 2016 is now on a two-day break while the dust settles on the Group Stage and the 16 remaining teams prepare for their first knockout matches. The Second Round begins on Saturday and this week's Football Fives Podcast is all about the 36 games that are already in the history books.

Ryan Keaney, a Northern Irishman, chose the last two weeks to go on holiday. Michael O'Neill's national team coloured him a fool and Daniel Storey, David Hartrick and Chris Nee talk about their progress and that of England and Wales, along with a group-by-group look back at what's happened in France so far.

What we don't speak about is the immensely satisfying progress of the Republic of Ireland, and, with that, a disclaimer: this episode was recorded at the crack of dawn on Wednesday, meaning that the final few knockout places had not been filled. So, it's kind of out of date in places. Sorry about that.

Two days to go! Two days to go! It's nearly time for UEFA EURO 2016 to begin and it's preview season in the world of podcasts. So, being a show that takes such pride in confounding expectations, we're acknowledging the knowledge that listeners should expect the unexpected and delivering the unexpected by doing what's expected. Or something.

Yes, we're doing a EURO preview and this am it. Daniel Storey, David Hartrick, Ryan Keaney and Chris Nee pick their way through five questions related to what's about to happen over the next month en France. There are predictions and recommendations, long shots and long odds, and a pretty distasteful joke to boot.

So, who are the young players we'll be keeping an eye on? Who's going to win the tournament? Who's going to spring a surprise? Well, we don't know and neither do you. But at least we're now on record as having a guess. Enjoy!

The Football Fives Podcast has a few little formats we like to revisit every now and then, and one of our favourites is the five-a-side team. We're nerdy like that. And, you know, that's kind of what a football five is, really. This week's episode is probably the one team we've been looking forward to the most.

Of all the world's football nations, few can match the Netherlands for impact, aura and nostalgia, three of our unspoken criteria. Yeah, Brazil are kind of a thing. Argentina and Germany are already done and dusted from a Football Fives point of view, and England, of course, hold special resonance for three of our number. But the Dutch...oh man, the Dutch!

The panel have picked five players each from the Netherlands and fight for their inclusion in the official F5 team. Daniel Storey, David Hartrick, Ryan Keaney and Chris Nee pick their way through and argue the toss over the greatest Dutch players ever. Who makes it in? Find out within.
